UNLESS someone like you
cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better.
It's not. Our BIG IDEA:
The future of planet earth is shaped by our choices today.
Our GUIDING QUESTIONS:
1. What IS pollution and its affect?
2. Why are some animals endangered or becoming endangered?
3. What are local organisations doing to help sustain our environment?
4. What can WE do every day to help sustain our environment?
Things we have done in our class...
We have been reading a lot about different sorts of pollution, looking at our first two questions. The last two questions are becoming part of our enquiry now. The children have chosen one of five areas that they want to look at, and will be investigating causes and solutions. They will be looking at finding out which local organisations are already trying to do something to help their issue, and then looking to see what THEY can do. Every little bit helps.
The inquiries are going really well and the children have come up with heaps of awesome ideas for making the community more aware. The majority of the class are working on informative posters, a couple on pamphlets, and some even have competitions that will be running! Cool as!
To help with their research, here are some sites that I think the kids might find useful:
